Some Movies Have a Single Redeeming Scene

Luigi Vampa (smuggler and thief): “We watch you and Jacopo fight to the death. If Jacopo wins we welcome him back to the crew. If you win I have given Jacopo the chance to live, even if he did not take advantage of it, and you can take his place on the boat.”

Edmond Dantes: “What if I win and I don’t want to be a smuggler?”

Luigi Vampa:  Then we slit your throat and we’re a bit shorthanded.”

Edmond Dantes: *claps hands*  ” I find smuggling is the life for me and would be delighted to kill your friend the maggot.”

Luigi Vampa: “Oh, uh, by the way, Jacopo…is the best knife fighter I have ever seen.”

Edmond Dantes: ” Perhaps you should get out more.”

I’m not a huge Jim Caveziel fan but he does a good job with a lousy adaptation of a mediocre novel and makes it kinda-sorta watchable.

Robert E. Howard’s Conan stories, in the order they were published and without all the filler/edits/etc. I haven’t read them in years, I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed them.

Kedzie vs. Nunes

This one also confuses me a little.

Kedzie has a much longer record (though it shows she’s vulnerable to submissions – Shayna Baszler and Tonya Evinger both caught her during Strikeforce bouts and she’s been submitted other times). She’s got a great deal of experience, however.

Nunes has a much shorter record, with no big names in it and this will be her first big-time fight since her debut in Pride.

Might be worth watching.

Carano vs. D’Alelio

Interesting match up.

Gina Carano has always been overrated; she’s a decent fighter but not well rounded and her stiffest competition (besides Chris Santos) both went the distance with her. She also has been out of training AFAIK, off shooting a movie or some such.

Sarah D’Alelio is relatively new and hasn’t fought anybody big except Julie Kedzie, who Carano beat; both Kedzie bouts went to a decision.

I’m not sure what Strikeforce is going for here, other than to maybe present some womens fights without the hype/title foolishness they’ve pushed in the past. Now that Zuffa owns them it will be interesting to see what, if anything, they do with the womens side of the game. Dana White can say all he wants that Coker will still run the show and it’ll operate independently but I don’t see it

We’re kind of excited. Plenty of room for us, what stuff we need and the dogs. We both like the idea of not being reliant on finding cabins to stay in or going back to the same places over and over. There will, however, be no more sleeping on the ground. Ever.
