The 31-year-old patient, identified as Emanuel Lamont Brown, arrived late for a court ordered evaluation, according to Scottsdale police.
Police initially said Brown arrived at 2:15 p.m. for his 2 p.m. appointment.
But the doctor, Neal Olshan, told ABC15 that Brown was a no-show for his appointment the day before.
Olshan said Brown then called back Thursday to make another appointment for 2 p.m. but did not show up until 3:30 p.m.
Olshan couldn’t see him and apparently told Brown he would have to wait because he missed his appointment.
Brown then at some point barged into Dr. Neal Olshan’s office, according to Pubins.
Olshan told ABC15 that Brown appeared to be “in a stupor”.
Scottsdale police Sgt. Bernie Hill said Olshan, fearing for his safety, pulled out a gun.
“[Olshan] pointed it directly at the ceiling and made it known he had the weapon and wanted him to leave,” said Hill while standing outside the doctor’s office Thursday.
Police said Olshan didn’t use the gun and quickly put it away.
“First, do no harm”. Unless they threaten you and you are in fear for your life inwhich case live somewhere that you can own and carry a gun without much in the way of restrictions, and will most likely not be charged with anything if you defend yourself.
I like it here.
H/T to Kevin (I saw this on the news this evening but got too distracted to post about it).
